///Subject Excerpt :: 11-501///

Colossal holographic banners were the only light source in the Halls of Black Rain. They crackled and flickered strands of neon lighting in random directions. Depicting a scorched, broken Earth, they read “You Will Never See It Again”.

Silent rain fell from utter darkness into the man-made abyss hundreds of miles below. No one knew how far down the lake was. The water was recycled continuously at the bottom and returned to the top with titanic hydraulic pumps. On station the satellite groaned and shifted at the bottom of the massive chamber, regenerating its own water supply.

Pain was a constant on the satellite. It was a world built for dread and endless labor. Killing the soul before the body was a primary focus. Once the soul had been fully dominated the remaining body lived indentured in servitude. Billions of The Shells meandered the bizarre labyrinth of pointless doorways, elevators, and levytators. They muttered and mumbled a low ebbing hum, their brains fruitlessly trying to reconnect them with their stolen humanity.

The satellite was a fully contained, isolated, invisible factory. The outer shell was constructed with hundreds of billions of self-adjusting mirrored panels and cloaking technology making it invisible to anything on or outside of the Earth. Known only to it's creators and those within it's halls, it was hidden purposefully from all of existence.

A bleak library of memories, shadows and nostalgia. Constant reminders of our faded pages, we have become but dry ink and broken pens in the hands of fate.

The truth will forever be far crueler and colder than the illusion could ever be. The shadowed. The orchestrators. Those who walk free. The Earth begins to return to when it was Eden. Grown from the blood-soaked soil of serenity they live in lawless harmony between the trees. On the mountains. In the oceans and deserts. The invisible illusion eternally orbiting and churning for the truth in a greed absolute. They have won. A black mirrored monument to limitless sacrifice and excess, and a Godly playground of the eternal beauty now reduced to property.
